Musical ARD joint venture

The New Music Award initiative was created to promote young musicians at the highest level. The online music prize is awarded jointly by ARD's youth radio stations and Deutschlandfunk Nova. MDR Sputnik, YouFM, FRITZ, N-Joy, DASDING and BR PULS, among others, are involved in the annual selection of the year’s most promising musical talents. Each station nominates one newcomer for the award and at the end of the year, a jury and listeners determine who will be at the top of the playlist.

Reliable performance and videos on demand

On the Sophora-supported website, users can follow the artists who have been short listed for the New Music Award, see videos of the artists and learn background information about the nominated acts and their debuts in short interviews and profiles. Sophora CMS ensures a stable performance, without any stage fright!

Publishing on your own

The editorial team of MDR is in charge of the New Music Award website for ARD. The team was able to launch the website on their own, using the Sophora CMS; it is part of the MDR Sputnik offer.

The template for this development process came from within the company as MDR's entire content platform is already published and based on Sophora. A clear vote for the subshell CMS.
