Document States

A document may exist in various different states. Each of these document states has its own icon. With the help of this list, you can obtain an overview of them.

Live-State Icons

The four document-state-icons provide information whether a document is on- or off-line.

	Content Description
	Document is not and was never published.
	Document is online.
	Document was published before, but is now offline.
	Document is deleted.

Editing Process Icons

The live-state icons used in the DeskClient probably will be combined with one out of four overlays, which display the document's state in the internal editing process.

	Content Description
	Document is in process.
	Document is prepublished.
	Publishing of the document is scheduled (publishat).
	Document is released/ready.

Composed Icons

Below, you can see the combined icons. The different editing process icons all will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the composed icon.

	Content Description
	Document was never online and is in process. (New)
	Document was never online, but is now finished and ready for approval and publication.
	Document was never online, but is now prepublished.
	Document was never online, but will be published time-controlled.
	Document is online and under revision.
	Document is still online, was edited afterwards and is now ready for approval.
	Document is online, subsequently was edited and is now prepublished.
	Document is still online, was edited and is scheduled for publishing.
	Document is in process and currently offline, but was published before.
	Document is currently offline, but was edited and is now ready for publication.
	Document is currently offline, but was edited and is prepublished.
	Document is currently offline, but was edited and is scheduled for publishing.

Icons With Additional Information

In addition to the afore-mentioned overlays, there are more of them providing additional clues concerning the document.

	Content Description
	A comment is attached to the document.
	Document is subject to time scheduling, but the scheduling does not take effect yet (ready for publishing).

Status Icons With Additional Information

These icons again can and will be combined with the other icons above. This leads to a variety of different possible icons, e.g.:

	Content Description
	The document is currently offline because it is located in a structure node that is offline. Once the structure node is published again, the document is back online.
	The document is currently offline because it is located in a structure node that is offline. Once the structure node is published again, the document is back online and scheduled for publishing.
	Document is still online, was edited and underlies time scheduling, but the scheduling does not take effect yet.
	Document is offline, under editing and has a comment attached to it.
