Comprehensive Relaunch as an Agile Project

Bayerischer Rundfunk Strengthens Usability

Efficient technology and great usability - these attributes of Sophora are the most valuable functions for the multimedia editors at br.de.

BR website
BR publishes the BR website using the Sophora content management system

The Java CMS excels with an editorial concept that is optimally tailored to the needs of the tri-media editorial team of the site br.de.

Based on the CMS Sophora, br.de offers audio and video media libraries as well as live streams and podcasts. Popular programs such as Schuhbecks – meine Küchengeheimnisse, the Rundschau or Dahoam is Dahoame can also be found on br.de online.

Sophora scales technically perfectly. During the changeover we could easily integrate Sophora into the existing infrastructure. A data exchange without barriers is also of economic value for us.
— Toni Siegert, BR, Former Head of Multimedia Production

Sophora facilitates editorial work with features such as drag and drop, a built-in image editor and a time planner for teasers. Cross-media publishing is possible without boundaries for BR- multimedia editors.

The BR portal is, thanks to Sophora, prepared for all currently foreseeable technical developments. Our CMS supports a variety of applications and media, and keeps the editorial workload to a minimum.
— Rainer Tief, SR, Former Program Director of Multimedia and Youth Media

Sophora In Use at the Youth BR-online Channel Puls

subshell makes for good music: The Bayerische Rundfunk (BR) runs the ambitious multimedia channel Puls with the Sophora content management system.

The online arm of the BR’s tri-media youth offering scores at  http://www.br.de/puls/ with a 24-hour full program. From 10PM to 5AM  there is a Puls program  window at BR’s  flagship program BAYERN. Puls uses a cross-media approach. There is also a mobile app, a TV show and a direct line into the social networks Twitter, Facebook and Google+.

The content management system Sophora supports the work of the online editors. Heads up: Puls is look and listen-worthy, not least for friends of contemporary music outside the mainstream.

The multimedia channel Puls is the youth programming of BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk). Since May 2013 Puls is broadcasting regional and global music from various branches. Puls strives to support young talents.
