CMS Sophora accompanies the online memorial page of “Reminder foundation Auschwitz-Birkenau”, as a community project of ARD and NDR.
Norddeutscher Rundfunk has called in collaboration with the ARD the one-year project “Auschwitz and Me” into being. The web presence auschwitzundich.ARD.de went online first on January the 27th in 2014 and documents memories and experiences of adolescents and prominent figures.
Interviewed persons report on personal experiences they have gained when visiting the memorial Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The projects ends on the 70th anniversary of the liberation by the Red Army. Auschwitzundich.ARD.de still remains with all experiences collected so far and will be enhanced continuously.
NDR relies on Sophora as their content management system for the website “Auschwitz and Me – Learning for life”. The multimedia web presence records experiences and memories by using video clips.
Apart from personal reports of visitors and employees of the memorial, the website auschwitzundich.ARD.de provides information about history, portraits and the today’s educational work.
The reminder foundation Auschwitz-Birkenau was established in 1990 with the objective to secure the memorial’s conversation work and financing for the future.
In order to continue educational work such as guided tours, exhibitions, lectures and seminars, the reminder foundation is asking for donations to fund all these projects.
By launching the project “Auschwitz and Me” Norddeutscher Rundfunk is supporting the educational work under auschwitzundich.ARD.de and in further media.
